Surface water contains excess levels of nitrates, phosphates, fecal matter, and mercury. Up to 40x the drinking standard.

Seven rivers flow in and only one flows out. We are the largest contributors to the Gulf of Mexico nitrate dead zone.

Due to contaminated surface water, we drill 700 feet into the ground to access clean water from the Mt. Simon aquifer.
